
3rd Annual Business Expo

The Revere Chamber of Commerce held its third annual Business Expo on November 19, 1999. Over sixty of Revere's finest businesses had presentation booths, the
largest participation in the expositions three year history. The event was made possible by the Revere Chamber of
Commerce staff, led by Chamber President John J. Verrengia and Laurie Leone, pictured to the left.

| The event also included great music, many prizes, and performances from various organizations in the community such as the Agnes Strekker Dance Studio and the Revere
Karate Academy. |

East Boston Savings Bank not only provided information about its services to visitors,
but they entertained them as well with a New Millennium's Eve Celebration. Complete with a cider fountain, party hats, and noise makers, the theme won the bank first prize
the in expos best booth competition.

Mass General Hospital and BankBoston, pictured below, also had booths at the Expo.
The event gave many visitors the opportunity to speak to professionals from a variety of businesses from banks to hospitals and from restaurants to limousine companies.

Janet Strok, formerly of the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center, presented information about the Epoch Assisted Living
and Nursing Homes. Janet is also the 1st Vice President of the Revere Chamber of Commerce. |
The Hamel Brothers, Dr.Paul and John, provided leasing information about the Fernwood Professional Building
which they are developing on Broadway. Their booth had a computer presentation featuring 200 pictures of the project
including picture of the old Fernwood Restaurant, the old Fasads Nightclub, and pictures of every stage of the construction. Dr.Paul Hamel is the optometrist
at Pearle Vision Center at Northgate. John Hamel is an information technology consultant and also the owner of Revere.com.

The winners of the 1999 Best Expo Booth Contest are pictured with the Judges and Chamber
President John J. Verrengia. East Boston Savings Bank won first prize, followed by Craft Connection, and The Blues Diner. The
judges, Rose Napolitano from the Revere Housing Authority and Revere 1st, Revere School Superintendent Carol Tye, and Revere Public Library Director Bob Rice executed the
difficult task of choosing only three winners from all of the impressive booths.
