Kathi Reinstein to follow father's footsteps

Kathi-Anne Reinstein of Revere is well on her way to succeeding her father, the late William Reinstein, as state representative in the 16th Suffolk District. At a Democratic caucus, she was the unanimous choice to appear on the Sept. 15 ballot, replacing her father, who died of cancer last month after the nomination period had elapsed. Ms. Reinstein, who is 27, has worked on a number of Democratic campaigns besides her father's.(The Boston Globe)

William G. Reinstein of Revere, a state representative and former three-term mayor of Revere, died of a rare form of lung cancer Friday at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 59.




Asbestos in the Revere Public Schools
Asbestos removal specialists inspected five schools for the airborne, cancer-causing substance, and continued cleaning the Whelan and McKinley schools. A Revere public meeting to update the asbestos problem is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. The location will be announced on the local cable, KBLE 3.

The City of Revere recently held the "Economic Development Summit for Revere’s Future." The summit, which is being sponsored by the City of Revere, the Revere Partnership for Economic Development, the Revere Chamber of Commerce and the Revere Journal, was a working session to discuss ways in which public and private partnerships can help expand and develop Revere's economy.
