We can have it all.
Lets experience the old-and the new. It can happen. We can keep
our old, traditional ways, and still develop new feelings here in the city by the beach. Here is something that may bring more people to our city, and still keep it pure and easygoing.
Let's consider the tourist dollar. It can provide the community
with the needed funds to keep Revere strong. Maybe, it can help
revitalize our town and brighten it up a bit. Have you ever
considered what those cute, little red trolleys would do? A site
seeing trolley, brightly colored and giving tours through the
historical areas of Revere might be something we all can benefit from.
Along those lines, a local shuttle service for residents of all ages
might not make it easier for us to get around, but give us a more
hometown feeling. You know, we are ALL in this together.
The beach can come into the 90's and still remain old-fashioned.
Quincy Bay Marina on the South Shore has a nice modern but
traditional place called Waterworks, that is half night club, half
restaurant that has given that area a carnival and breezy atmosphere.
A place like the Bay Marina is also like a beach front Faneuil Hall.
It is extremely easy going and timeless. I have just come back from
Miami and had the chance to visit a companion place called Bayside.
Like the above, with a bandstand and a great Southern flavor in both
shops and attitude, (music pavilions and a casual feel unlike any
place I have ever been), a situation like that can only bring Revere
a spirit not only missing here, but in New England. Florida has
proved that a Hooters and a Hard Rock Cafe can rejuvenate a city as
big as Miami, and contrary to popular belief, can provide friendship
and vitality in a very unexpected way.
Having said this, lets do the impossible and institute as many
waterfront social areas and fun ideas that is important in keeping us all loose and carefree in this too-busy world.
We all in Revere deserve a break. Help us unwind. See you on the
trolley! We've tried it before. Lets try it again!
